Shorey Not Being Shipped Out
Martin O'Neill has confirmed that Nicky Shorey isn't going anywhere on a permanent deal at the moment, after refusing Forest permission to use him in the FA Cup.
Speaking to a number of journalists O'Neill commented that he isn't thinking of selling Nicky Shorey despite his struggle to make a mark at Villa, and his form for Notts Forest since moving to them on a short term loan deal.
'Selling Nicky is not something that I am looking to do at this minute.'
Whilst Shorey has done well in the league for Forest, he isn't being allowed to play in any Cup games as O'Neill clearly doesn't want him cup tied given our progress this season and O'Neill is still looking at Nicky to fight for his place at Villa following the arrival of Warnock.
He further adds that Villa have had people at every game he's played, and have got the matches on DVD to see how he's getting on.
'I think going forward he has done very well and if he tightens up his game defensively, he has loads to offer - and I think he has tried to do that.'
