Villa/Spurs Paper Transfer Talk Savaged

Well here you go, a number of transfer rumours trashed!

First off the reports that John Carew might be moving to Spurs have been dismissed out of hand by his agent Per A Flod who told skysports.com 'It is speculation, John is very happy at Aston Villa. No one at Aston Villa has spoken to me about selling John and the fact is he has a contract until 2011. Aston Villa is a very good club and John is playing well so why should he leave?'

Be interested to see if there are any moves to extend his contract, otherwise surely this summer the club will look to get some money from a sale rather than letting the striker run down his contract?

Meanwhile both Martin O'Neill and Appy Arry Redknapp have obliterated the Robbie Keane to Villa rumours.

Arry said, again to skysports, 'He is the captain, he's here, he's done a great job for us and is very important to us. There's real competition between him, Roman Pavlyuchenko, Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch but unless someone comes up with £50million or something for him I can't see any way he won't be here. He's part of the plans and I haven't spoken to anyone about him leaving or wanting to leave.'

On Villa he added that he hasn't made any contact with Villa 'if I did I would have spoken to Martin O'Neill who is a very good friend.'

MON said: 'I see us linked with players and some of our players are being linked with other clubs but at this minute I have nothing to report.' Adding on the Keano link 'There is no definite movement in either direction. Maybe like most Premier League managers, I'd probably like to keep it that way. Robbie Keane? There is absolutely nothing in it.'

And another exit link dismissed, this time MON on the Emile Heskey to here, there and everywhere (he's been linked with Liverpool, Chelsea, Wigan... err, who else? I forget now)

'Emile has done very well indeed. There has been some paper talk about teams, but no-one at this stage has enquired directly about him to me, although that doesn't really mean anything these days now. But I've been very pleased with him. He's got a few goals to his name as well too and if that gets back to the point I'm always talking about - it gives you a bit of confidence. For the most part, all season I've been delighted with the team and that would include him.'

No dismissal of my links to Rooney, Ronaldo, Messi and co you notice? Hmmm! lol
