Friday's AVFC Press Transfer Talk

Friday's AVFC Press Transfer Talk

Should I put 'exclusive' in my title? Possibly not! The latest transfer rubbish/talk (delete as appropriate)

Ok, I think I can whizz through this article today - sadly - as there aren't many links. Yup, I know, sad as it no doubt is, I love the gossip and transfer rumours but they are in very short supply at the moment, maybe the snow has stopped the press getting to the pubs (the best source of transfer inspiration is surely the bottom of a glass?!?)

Anyway, only real link Villa wise I can see in The Sun with a link to Hull for Villa striker (oh yes he is!) Marlon Harewood. This link isn't new and the Hare has also been linked recently to a return to West Ham. This report says Harewood could be available for as little as £300 000 (he is out of contract in the summer) but that West Ham might not be able to match his £28 000 a week wage demands. Cor blimey, £28k !

One linked to us not so long back are now being linked to Blues. That link being Sunderland striker Kenwyne Jones. Ho hum, totally un-bothered by that! Sunderland apparently want a risible £11million for him.

Another we've been linked with before, this time Monaco and former Barcelona + Chelsea striker/attacking midfielder Eidur Gudjohnsen is according to The Sun on the way to Blackburn Rovers in a £2million deal.

The Mirror meanwhile say that Eidur could be on his way to Blackburn or Tottenham or West Ham. They say the 31-year-old is available for £1.5million. He was apparently dropped before Christmas having failed to score.

Well, to be fair, that means very little to us as this time we aren't being linked, however his father/agent has said that Eidur is considering his options and might well decide to move back to England, so who knows?! Obviously I'm a footballing expert and would be manager if not for the fact I don't have time due to running this website and forum, if I was asked, I'd probably consider signing him, or not. I am THAT decisive.

The Daily Record, a regular read in the Fear household, have an exclusive saying that supposed Villa, Middlesbrough and Blues target Kris Boyd will be offered a bumper contract to keep him at Rangers.

Meanwhile in a move that might well shock the footballing world, Cristiano Ronaldo has(n't) admitted that he is on the verge of a move to Villa Park due to his obsession with Harry Potter films. The goofy one knows that one of the Weasley twins and the caretaker are Villa fans. As if that wasn't enough Ronaldo is said to be addicted to Father Ted and wants to realise his dream of having a cup of tea with Villa fan Mrs Doyle.

All true... trust me..... and yes, I am taking the transfer gossip less seriously year by year... still love it all though!

Isn't that a paradox? A 'reliable hack'???

agree Stig, very unsually quite, I usually get a whisper or two and some (rarely mind) do actually come true!

I think i am finally immune to the January transfer window...It is always a let down and instead of checking the news every 10mins i now manage with a quick look 2 or 3 times a day which whilst still a little sad is not as desperate! I am hoping this will mean that i will not stay up til midnight on deadline day followed by the emptiness of the morning after!! I'd rather not sign anyone than a panic buy that we then sell for a loss 12 months later. At least we are not signing Paddy V for 150k a week and i would rather give the fonz a chance rather than waste money on a spl/league 1 hotshot!!

I think it's very important to note that Mark Williams who plays Mr. Weasley senior is also a Villa fan. Which in my mind seals the Ronaldo link.
