Monny Dunne The Right Thing

Monny Dunne The Right Thing

Two in two days, I'm loving this! Juan Pablo Angel believes that Monny grabbed the right player in Richard Dunne when looking to replace man mountain Martin Laursen.

Speaking to the Official Site Angel said that he considers Richard Dunne to be one of the very best centre halves in the Premiership after not only seeing how he's helped Villa, but after playing against him during his time at the club.

He describes Dunne as 'phenomenal' in defence, and he's glad that his earlier thoughts on the player have worked out right.

'One of the main tasks this summer was replacing Martin, and Richard has certainly been up for the challenge of doing that.

'I said that it would be a fantastic bit of business and so it has proved.'

He adds that not only will Dunne be great for Villa in the short term, he's a player that is going to stabilise us and help us in the long run, not only with his on pitch performances, his leadership but also with the qualities he can help teach the younger lads.

Angel finishes by saying that Dunne, along with Milner, has been one of the stand out stars of our season and that Villa will no doubt get the best years of his career as he enters prime.

We've all seen how Dunne has helped shore up our defence, and we know Man City are crying they let him go. Angel is spot on is his words and I'm sure as the season progresses he'll be proven even more right with his assumptions.
