Lincoln City boss Chris Sutton has extended the loan of Villa youth Nathan Baker until January 22 and Chris Herd until the end of the season.

Andreas Weimann has signed a contract extension which takes him to June 2012. Full details:

James Nursey at The Mirror says MON has told 'unsettled' 18-year-old midfielder that he can't go out on loan after links to Cardiff City made the press today. MON wants the former Leeds United player to continue his progress at Villa.

MON has told Sky Sports that winning silverware is crucial to a club the size of Villa. 'I think for the football club it is very, very important to (win trophies). It's a semi-final, it's completely different to preparing for a final and we are well short of that at the moment.'

James Milner is apparently a major doubt for tomorrow nights clash at Ewood Park.

Fieldy: Ashley Young felt he has a point to prove in our match against Blackburn after missing out on the Liverpool defeat. After picking up another yellow card, we all knew Young would sit out the Liverpool clash and being fair to him he hasn't been firing on all cylinders so far this season, so to come back and put in the performance he did against Blackburn was very well received.
