Lincoln City boss Chris Sutton has extended the loan of Villa youth Nathan Baker until January 22 and Chris Herd until the end of the season.

James Nursey at The Mirror says MON has told 'unsettled' 18-year-old midfielder that he can't go out on loan after links to Cardiff City made the press today. MON wants the former Leeds United player to continue his progress at Villa.

MON has told Sky Sports that winning silverware is crucial to a club the size of Villa. 'I think for the football club it is very, very important to (win trophies). It's a semi-final, it's completely different to preparing for a final and we are well short of that at the moment.'

James Milner is apparently a major doubt for tomorrow nights clash at Ewood Park.
