Delboy Dreamed Of FA Cup Goal

Delboy Dreamed Of FA Cup Goal

Not a great surprise really given the fact he plays upfront, but Delfouneso has admitted today that he always dreamed of scoring goals in the prestigious tournament.

This is probably the 'well obviously' article of the day.

Speaking on the Official Site Nathan Delfouneso revealed it had always been his aim to score in the FA Cup so he was obviously well pleased when he bagged our opener against Blackburn.

He explains that every year as a kiddie growing up he'd tell his family on cup Final day that he was going 'to be doing that one day' and after our progression to the 4th round he's that much closer to his ultimate dream.

He adds that scoring:

'Was my aim. When I found out I was in the team, I wanted to go out and impress and try and get the goal as well to stake my claim.'

He finishes by saying how well the lads have been playing and that he's had to be patient, but that he hopes he can start playing more of a part in games now following the goal.

Prestigious tournament? Maybe to us, but there's no denying that it's lost some of it's gloss over the last few years. Long gone are the days of 8 hour televised FA Cup final specials. The only way it will ever get it's full respect back is if the FA award the winners with a champions league spot. Obviously they will have to run it past Sky first.
