Craig Gardner In Transfer Tug Of War?

Only bit of gossip, just about enough for a very quick article - VERY quick - has Sky Sports repeating previous links to a Craig Gardner exit.

Bound to happen, he isn't even making the bench now so for the good of his career he has to move on.

Shame, always had high hopes he'd break through but there you go!

Gardner celebrating

He is apparently in a tug of war between Birmingham City and Wolves for the January transfer window.

The report claims he'll command a fee of around £3million. Whoever signs him, they'll get a decent full bloodied midfielder who is versatile enough to play as a full back as well.

No links in at the moment!

doubt he will want to leave as he is villa through and through but he will only be a squad player here and to be completely honest i havent seen anything to sugest he is capable of more. a move would probably be the best thing for the guy and if it happens all the best to him

agree claretandbluearmy, hope he finds a good club and has a decent career, never gives us anything less than 100%, just obviously isn't fancied, no disgrace in that.

hopefully we wont regret selling him, if we do. like the case of cahill...but then again, bolton's doing badly

He has to consider what is best for his career and it seems he is really not in coisderation for the first team squad at Villa. A shame, I thought he was agressive and could have been the defensive (Scott Parker like) player, but there again what do I know

A real shame as Gardner is a better player than Sidwell, more versatile than Reo-Coker & a player who has put in better displays at right back than right back Habib Beye. How he isn't making the line-up (never mind the bench) is an injustice & just further evidence of how poor our management team is at utilizing our Youth System & integrating our young lads into the 1st team. Agbonlahor aside, who else has been given a real run in the 1st team under O'Neill?

Also, against Liverpool last night, who else would have felt more comfortable with Gardner coming on for Downing instead of Sidwell?

Seen him play a few under 21's when he couldn't get a game for Villa and played great .. Thought he was gonna be a replacement for Barry at one stage .. He is one player that deserved a run in the first team and should leave to have a career and "if" he does i think he will do well and i hope he gets a good reception when he plays Villa .

my midfield would defently include reo-coker or gardner, i dont rate petrov much, and defently dont rate sidwell, WHEN reo-coker plays he never stops running, gives 110% anyone agree? milner, young downing, " reo-coker or gardner ", petrov, agbonlahor, 4-5-1 ike we did before heskey came and care injurd! we was top 3 then, if we never bught heskey we wud been playing 451 for few more games and maby would of won?!
