Unoial Villa News...

Few interesting columns today with Andy Townsend and Tony Cascarino adding their voices to the growing opinion that Villa need to go all out to buy a striker to push on and try to cement a place in the top four. Makes sense, we are pretty light up front really, not weight wise you understand?! Full article: Villa Legend Says Villa NEED A Striker

Vital Villa asked in a poll suggested by Fieldy aka Oops, Oh Well Can't Win Them All for your man of the match v Arsenal. Carlos Cuellar won with 32% following a couple of goal line clearances. Personally I think it was his fault we lost, we were doing fine until he shaved his beard off and he was so close to me resurrecting the end of season award 'best beard in the team award (so Olof wins something whilst at Villa)' Darn it!

Just 15% got it right with our win, lose, draw poll. 55% had said a win and 30% a draw.

We also asked earlier in the week: Would you sell Heskey in January? Under no circumstances no 53%

Great news on the Vital Villa Acorns Challenge, had a few big donations recently to add to everyone else's generosity. Upshot of that is we are now at 74% of the total aim for 2 seasons before one season is even half way through. Really happy about that, thanks so much to all who have donated so far.

JayVFC says he can't stand the thought of another second half of season slump in a well thought out article: Please, Not Again Martin?

TuBBz asked if we dare dream of pushing for the title: Dare We Dream? Villa Are In The Title Chase

JayVFC: First off, I`d better warn you. This one is pretty long I`m afraid and as such there are no pretty pictures. I know how easily some of you get distracted so I thought it best to not tempt you with all the bright colours. Anyway… If someone had come to you in August and offered you that… Villa would be fourth in the Premier League at Christmas, 2 points ahead of 5th and goal difference away from third… would you take it? Carlos Cuellar has told the Birmingham Mail that despite the links to Real Madrid, he has no plans of moving from Aston Villa and the Premiership. Full article: King Carlos Going Nowhere

Thought for the day: Went to the doctors the other day, turns out he reckons I'm paranoid. He didn't say it but I know what the sod was thinking!

Was going through some old videos on the hard drive and there was a "Barry for England" vid it shows him scoring a great goal against spotingham flopspurs and at the end of the vid text came up saying "I'd like to see Stewart Downing do that " Just shows how times change and maybe we should start a campaign to get Downing in the England team .. but then again i think he can manage that himself on his current form .
