Aston Villa Transfer Talk - Heskey Out?

Aston Villa Transfer Talk - Heskey Out?

How strange the transfer window gossip is, it isn't far off the window opening and yet there seems very little going around about Villa. Now fair enough Martin O'Neill has said he doesn't expect too much movement but surely the papers should at least have linked us yet again to Spurs winger David Bentley and repeated a link or two to swaps between Nigel Hokey-Cokey and Jermaine Jenas. Surely they've not given up?!

Talking about Jermaine's, (just look at that, totally seamless link!!!!!) The Sun today are claiming that Villa are after the Real Zaragoza player. Apparently they are very determined to get rid of him and he will be returning to the Premiership. But to the Villa? Nope, the club dismissed reports a month back saying we weren't after him, I'd happily take that over this report.

Amazing quotes from the director there though! Erard Poschner said: 'We are disappointed with Pennant. This is based on the commitment of the players. With spirit like this it is better to 'sack' some players and seek reinforcements in the winter market. We want players who guarantee their work and effort.'

The Mirror meanwhile are talking about under pressure Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez. The debt ridden club are apparently going to allow Tom Jones mini me to buy two players with our very own Emile Heskey on the list. He was linked to them last summer as well if memory serves me right, or at the very least earlier this season.

Heskey tackling

The report says Heskey, who scored 60 goals for Liverpool in his four years there, is seen as the perfect foil for Fernado Torres

We going to sell an England international striker who is just (injury aside) hitting a bit of form in January when there will be no likely replacements available? Unless Robbie Keane or Carlton Cole are targets, it seems very doubtful doesn't it? What if he wanted to go? Well, we have shown before that we don't suffer fools gladly at Villa but also don't get held to ransom, just look at the Gareth Barry saga.

Hey, I've a great idea, I'll ask in a poll!!!!!!!! Would you sell Heskey?

For me the idea of a January sale is just daft unless we have a top class replacement. I'd say NO. He is finding form I think although the play a few and get an injury history is a shame and a worry. I'd see Carlton Cole as a perfect replacement as they are like for like but would he be available? Doubt it. Also would be intrigued to see what Robbie Keane could do this season to fire us to the Champions League but still seems daft considering selling an England international who is just finding form doesn't it?

I've got a great idea!!!! Why don't we give MON and Hesky, and whilst we're at it Ash, Carew, all our defenders & midfielders, Downing, Gabs, and the excellent backroom staff, not forgetting our great owner all to Liverpoll as a big lovely Xmas present!!!! In fact why don't we give the theiving scousers our ground as well as they thing they're so ****ing brilliant they can take what they want! Stupid red t**sers! Hope you go bankrupt and have to sell your Eupopean Cups for hot soup. Merry ****in' Xmas! Serves you right for selling out to those two tw*ts. You've disgraced your history and your Manager is a nutcase.

Emile Heskey is very important to the remainder of Villa's season IMO. Let him go in the summer, yes, in January, no UNLESS there is a TOP quality striker to replace him. I very much want to keep Heskey, but if the option was to bring in Cole or Keane instead that would make sense.
