Blackburn v Villa is now sold out, the 5000 allocation has been snapped up for the travelling Claret and Blue army. Got mine this morning, phew!
Mike Field: Speaking to SSN Stewart Downing explained how bad an influence our very own JF was before games...no sorry that was just a really weird dream I had last season. Downing has said that with how Villa are playing they fear nobody anymore having already seen off Chelsea, Man U and Liverpool this season. If anything the established Top 4 should be looking at us and panicking. Villa Aren't Downing - They Have No Fear

StennyVilla alerted me to an article on Villa's on loan (to Blackpool) midfielder Barry Bannan. Stenny said: 'Bannan really enjoying it at Blackpool see link below, but his contract is up in June and he is a must to sign up on a long contract. He will make it. He looks good enough now - a future Villa and Scotland player of class hopefully please.' A report in the News of the World says that former Reading and Chelsea midfielder Steve Sidwell will stay and fight for his pace in the Villa team but that Martin O'Neill will allow Nigel Hokey-Cokey to leave in January if he can find a club. Full details: Sunday's Aston Villa Press Talk

Mini Cooper: It's funny how the build up to each game has a certain angle or emphasis. Prior to the OT game it was the fact we hadn't beaten them there in the league since 1983, and the general feeling amongst us fans that the time is now, given their injury problems and the simultaneous 'clicking' of our new look midfield permanent.
