MON - Advantage To Stoke & Pre-match Build Up

Very quite news wise at the moment, only snippet is in a few papers with Martin O'Neill joining perenial moaner Arsenal boss Arsene Whinger about the fixture congestion.

MON says that Stoke will have an unfair advantage today because they didn't have to play a game this week whilst we had to trek up to the Stadium Of Light to beat Sunderland.

O'Neill said: 'It’s interesting Arsene Wenger made the point that in what should have been a full Premier League programme some teams didn’t play in midweek. I understand where he is coming from because some teams are getting an advantage. Stoke City didn’t play this week and it stands to reason they would be fresher than us. I can understand what’s been said.'

He also says those extra few days rest make a huge difference to players.

Full quotes: The Mirror

On the game he says that Stoke have added quality to the team and that they'll be a handful.

Well, this is a win-win situation for me as a Spurs fan. Either anti-football Stoke loses - Villa drops one point, or Villa drops 3 points. After all, with liverpool losing to PMouth right now, you and Citeh have to be our biggest rivals for fourth place:) Oh, and now it's 2-0 :)
