It Pays To Have Faith In Aston Villa
steff_the_villan on why it pays to have faith!
My youngest boy passed his driving test a few weeks ago, and my lads were given a choice two years ago, cheap B'day and Xmas pressies followed by a vehicle on the road after passing their test, or the normal more expensive pressies, they both chose cheap followed by car.
After much mooching on ebay and insurance comparisons, we came up with a 2001, Rover 25 in British Racing Green, this was in Ulverston in the lower lake district, only available to collect on Saturday!
So an early start, and a very happy Dion the Villan following me back down the M6, time was good, looked like we would make it back for kick off, but something was bugging me.
I'm not a betting man, in fact the last time I had a flutter was a couple of seasons ago after a similar gut feeling, but I was skint, the only money I had on me, belonged to someone else, I had already dipped into it, to help with the juice on the journey, and I talked myself out of it, didn't want to take the risk, I'd made my mind up.
But the voice wouldn't leave me alone, I couldn't get rid of the feeling that I was making a mistake by not backing the boys to win at Old Trafford for the first time since 83, so I pulled over, told Dion to carry on home, and went off the A55 to find a bookies, with 15-20 mins to go before kick off, I laid the bet.
£100 @ 6/1
Gabby I love you
And to the rest of the Mighty Villa, thanks for making my Christmas
Have faith my fellow Villans
