Martin O'Neill was positively beaming after today's 1-0 victory over Manchester United, describing the effort by the players as nothing short of 'courageous'.
Speaking to the Official Site with a glass of Port and a Cigar the manager paid tribute to the belief and work ethic of the squad. Even the gracious in defeat Fergie commented how committed we were and how hard we worked!
'I am just absolutely delighted to have won the game.'
You and everyone else Martin!
As for the 26 year nonsense, he added:
'It has been a long time since the football club has won at Old Trafford. It wasn't easy but it was a really fine victory.'
Games at Old Trafford are never easy, but we deserved today and hell, everything was right for us. Yes ok we'll have the plastic Mancs on later talking about injury decimation, injury time, the ref cheated them, Rooney never dives, we should never have won blah blah blah.
Who cares - you can only beat what's put in front of you and today we beat it. Job done, argument over, anyone else going to laugh at the irony of Man U fans attacking a referee?
Well done Mart - well done the lads!![]()
