'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Milner Admits He Has A Lot To Learn

James 'Milly' Milner has said he's enjoying life in the middle of the pitch, but knows he has a fair bit to learn about the position yet.

Speaking on the Official Site Milner said that he hoped his midfield partnership with Stan would continue to bring results considering in two matches he's got two goals and two assists already, however he's happy to play where Monny wants him and says he's quite comfortable anywhere in the front six positions.

'Anywhere in the front six positions, I am very happy.

'I'm happy in there and we've won two games with that formation so hopefully it will continue.'

James isn't the only one happy, Monny has been spouting his words of wisdom on the Official Site as well today and has described Milly as 'phenomenal', adding that his versatility will prove vital for club and country.

'He has started two games in the middle for us now and not only has he been brilliant in matches but he has scored for us as well.'

Speaking about his ball to Dunne for the goal, Monny added:

'If that had been played by Frank Lampard or Steve Gerrard you would have said that was magnificent. He is outstanding at the moment. If the World Cup was next month he would be in the squad.'

Just like GB, James may just need a settled position - look at how much GB improved once he was just played in 1 position, he learnt it and made it his own, just as he has with England. Hopefully Milner can do the same, but he is younger and potentially a lot better - i would be worried about the defensive side of the team set up and 442 still wouldn't be my formation, but Milner has the drive, passion and energy to drop back and also be a combative midfielder so fingers crossed, but still think against better teams and sometimes away from home an extra def midfielder will be needed.

It's brilliant to be a Villa fan and have the chance of discussing team options - OMG :-D

He's quite simply the one Villa player I've been most excited about for a long time.
