Unoial Villa News...

A report yesterday claimed (not a real stretch to be honest) that Shorey wants to find a new club. Full details: Frustrated Shorey Wants Out Of Villa

And then today: Fieldy: Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies has said that the club will be attempting to extend Nicky Shorey's loan spell, or better still turn it into a permanent deal in January. Full article: Shorey A Permanent Deal Says Davies

Martin O'Neill is hoping Stephen Warnock and Nigel Reo-Coker declare themselves fit for action as Villa look to see off Portsmouth in the Carling Cup. Full article: www.avfc.co.uk

This is great, you have to look at this! I've often heard Villa fans saying they became fans from birth but I'd never realised just how early some do become true claret and blue Villan's.
This baby scan is of Vital Villa member Ratman's baby and it really does show his baby is already a follower of the faith. A Villa Fan From BEFORE Birth?

Fieldy: Martin O'Neill has revealed that Nigel Reo-Coker departed the pitch with a niggling ankle injury in our draw against Spurs. Speaking to the Birmingham Mail O'Neill admitted that Ash Young had to inform him that Coker had a sore ankle and would be unable to carry on. Full article: Reo-Conquered

Habib Beye had a reasonably happy day against Spurs and old boy Peter Crouch last weekend. Speaking on the official site today, Beye was pleased with his own performance, for the most part keeping Crouch quiet and making some very well timed interceptions given it was his first match back for a while. More importantly, Beye was pleased with the performance of the defensive unit, or dare I say, the team, in the game. Full article: Beye Pleased With Defensive Showing

Fieldy: Brad Friedel has admitted the growth of Brad Jnr is spurring him on to some top quality performances this season. Speaking to SSN after a sterling performance against Spurs - well let's face it, if Brad Snr had had an off day we'd have been royally done up the Arsenal - the 38 year old has admitted that the growing confidence of Mini Me means he's not taking his place for granted anymore. Full article: Friddy P Wary Of Mini Me Challenge

Man of the match v Spurs was a no brainer really, well, at best a choice between two players, both of whom I gave a rare 9 out of 10 for in my match report. The winner... drum roll please (or bread roll, I'm bloody starving) was non other than Carlos Cuellar with 66%. Full results and images: Man Of The Match v Spurs

Villa v Pompey head to head ahead of the (oh sorry, that really is too many heads so close together!) Carling Cup clash Tuesday night: Head To Head v Pompey In League Cup

Ciaran Clark has penned a new 2 and half year deal to keep him at B6. The reserve skipper made an impressive Premiership debut earlier this year against Fulham, and looks to have a bright future ahead of him. Full details: Clark Signs 2 1/2 Year Extension

The weekend may be over but but this is still grreeattt.. Full article: Something For The Weekend (262)

Well there you go then. Following the tenuous link to Arsenal the other day, Vital Villa asked: Would you sell Gabby? Apparently not as 59% voted NO. Majority Say No Go For Gabby Sale Rumour!
