Clark Signs 2 1/2 Year Extension

Ciaran Clark has penned a new 2 and half year deal to keep him at B6.

The reserve skipper made an impressive Premiership debut earlier this year against Fulham, and looks to have a bright future ahead of him.

Speaking on the official site, he said:

'I've been here since I was 12 and I know everyone around here now.

'When you are training with the likes of Ashley Young and defenders like Richard Dunne and Carlos Cuellar, it is a massive help and they help you through training sessions.'

He's kept his feet firmly grounded despite the raving reviews he's seen and it surely can't be long before we see more of him in the first team.

Good player, unfortunately he probably won't get any decent run of games during that deal @ Villa. Shame really. Don't think it can be classed as a 2 1/2 year extension as he had his deal already running until the end of next season ;-) (Could be wrong though.) More of an improved deal. OK, enough of my nit-picking. Great news however.

Yeh I was probably wrong then. It would still only be 1 1/2 extension then. :-) It's a shame we had injuries to Davies & Collins because I think he would have gained valuable experience out on loan to a Championship team this winter. Bit stumped Albrighton didn't seal a short-term loan though with Downing's return to fitness.

Mr Pedantic! lol No I could be wrong, I lose track of expiry's so just cycle between extension, and new contract unless the OS makes it clear - didn't you know I make it up as a I go along! Re Albrighton I could've sworn there was a deal taking him to Forest the other month, but yeah Clark needs a loan spell now - get some proper games under his belt.

I agree, Clark should go out on loan for the second half of the season we need to get some of these youngsters playing some games
