Lawro & Mystic Mug Say Villa Wins

BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson is backing Villa for a 2-1 win. To be fair, he has had more right than wrong this season I think, although last week's Villa win v Burnley ended up wrong as we only drew 1-1.

The former moustached one said: 'This is the battle of the pretenders.'

EH?!

Sorry, how are Liverpool doing this season Mark!? lol

Adding, 'Villa dropped points at Burnley last week, while Tottenham had an unbelievable 9-1 win over Wigan. It's going to be close, but being as Villa are at home I'll go for Martin O'Neill's side.'

Would loved him to explain the pretenders jibe a bit more, why are we pretenders to the throne, when did Liverpool last win the Premier League?! Oh yes, that is right, never!

BBC preview will be linked here later no doubt: www.bbc.co.uk/sport

Mystic Mug is going for a 3-2 to Villa although he did say his balls were cloudy and couldn't really read what was on the cards for tomorrow.

Easy win for us, no one need worry, just need to go in hard on Defo & Lennon early doors & we'll be fine :-)

will be a good game tomorrow, anything can happen but if we play like against bolton i can't see us not winning. yeah its funny how pundits and 'experts' like lawrenson assume liverpool basically deserve to be title contenders, considering they last one the league 20, yes 20 years ago haha.

I can't see Lawro calling us and spuds pretenders to win the premiership, cos we ain't no where close, so this must refer to the top 4, in which case he is right, although I think contenders is a better word. Liverpool are the pretenders now but not for winnng the league but for finishing in a Europa league spot. LOL hope Everton stuff them.

I do hope the liverpool slump continues as they have deffo been the pretenders as far as the prem is concerned. Also they can't sack Raffa due to a massive compensation payaout that would need addressing. Can we win tomorrow? Of course we can. It will be close but we are at home and i think we can take advantage of an over confident Spurs side. I think they will be too confident and we will battle. 2-0 Villa.

In this case, it really does come down to whoever wants it more on the day. I'm glad spuds won 9-1 and didn't lose 9-1 in their previous game. confidence will be justifiably high on both sides of the field which should mean we're in for a cracker. a victory would keep us above $ity for another week, and hot on the tail of arsenal, should they lose to chelsea (which i see happening). really need big JC to turn up tomorrow. and to have collins back would be fantastic because I believe he could take defoe. a cheeky 2 - 0 villa? PEACE!

funny how so many villa fans are saying if you play like you played against bolton you will win, cause im thinking if spurs play like they played against wigan i cant see us not winning! lots of villa fans and others have been harping on about how bad wigan were and not how awesome spurs were that day. the 2nd half, wigan were cut open from every angle possible. you manager was there to witness it and maybe you should read his comments....i really do think our attacking players are much more technical that what villa can field in terms of attacking talent, and our midfield pair are very up for the battle. im sorry but the likes of downing, heskey, milner (although i do rate him very highly) etc etc, simply do not hold a candle to what we have on the wings and up front, and before you all start banging on about young, he has been very average this season and as it stands now would have no chance of going to the world cup...ive heard many villa fans saying how they will "out muscle" us on various forums, and this is a clear indication they know we have the technical advantage and are hoping to do a bolton on us, i just cant see it happening....spurs 3-1 villa...defoe 2 and krancjar 1

in the words of Kevin Keegan - "I'd just love it" - if you were to beat them!

Villa have the best wingers in the Prem, collectively. (Young, Milner, Downing & Albrighton, 4 wingers who can actually cross a ball.) Although I think it'll be 2-1 to Villa, I am 100% certain Spurs' forwards will have Dick Dunne in their pocket. Lets face it, if someone like Steven Fletcher can make him look a fool, then ... let's just say I'm dreading Defoe!

Stulinney, Spurs have Lennon, Bentley,Kranjcar,Bale, Dos santos and Modric(although modric is not a out and out winger, he does play on the left hand side). So its a close call if you ask me.

dowwning????? are you for real!!! he is absolute muck! the thoughts of him landing at spurs last season caused uproar...he is not fit to lace the boots of krancjar, who is lightyears ahead in ability....milner? very talented youngster, i like him, but currently lennon is the best right winger in the prem by a mile..

villa would kill to have lennon on there right wing and dont try and kidd yourselves otherwise. i rate milner dont get me wrong, he is technically excellent but to say u have the better wing options over spurs is not even a joke although i did laugh a lot when reading it.

Analysing any goal ever scored you could claim "poor defending" but Lennon has always had the ability to beat a man (almost at will), but now he's been putting in good crosses (and chipping in with goals!) for over a year now so IMO to write off ALL of Lennons good work so lightly is a little lazy. Now I've said that he's bound to have a shocker today, he's definately overdue...
