Nicky To 'Shore Up' Forest Defence

Nicky Shorey has been signed by Forest manager, Billy Davies on a month long loan.

The left back, who is currently out of side due to the form of new signing Stephen Warnock is set to link up with the Forest team on Thursday.

Nottingham Forest have had a decent start to the season, currently lying ninth in the Championship table.

By the way, I apologise for the punny title, must be knocking around with The Fear too much!!

interesting thought YJ. Maybe. Then again, the last news on Wilf was that he'd hurt his toe which had set up back. Seems a strange one with Shorey, never really got that much of a run, even when first signed?

"currently out of side due to the form of new signing Stephen Warnock". LOL, what about the form of the other 5 that played there instead of him before we bought Warnock??

I thought Shorey was playing pretty well at the time he was left out. I think he is very good cover, but warnock is top drawer. Wewill have to wait and see whether Bouma will recover to be the player he was.

Good for Shorey,, it might bring his value up... but i have to admit i was always a fan of shorey and was a bit dissapointed that he didnt play most of last season,, but with Warnock and Bouma it just means Shorey had to rely on luck to play. He was only really bought for cover over Bouma but a bit of a shame on my point of view

444 you say that but Shorey started the 5 games prior to Warnock being signed.

Cracking signing for us. Not sure if there's a view to making it permanent, but was told last week to expect him in Jan for £1.3m. We're down to the bare bones in defence, so maybe we may have brought him early.

Good luck to him, hope he impresses and we get something for him in January, another bought and then sold at a loss I am afraid (not a pop at the manager) but happens at all clubs I suppose

Hope does well at Forest, never really got the chance at VP. Also YJ, hope you not knocking up the Fear!!

I liked him, Bouma must be fit or this is just stupid, I also like Freddie but would keep Shorey as Freddie is 31 now and getting injury prone.

For his sake, i hope he gets a perminent deal, think he's been a bit hard done by. Not the greatest LB in the world but still has never been given a solid consistent run (i mean 20 games, which i think is needed in defence). O'Neil bought him but instead played a RB at LB and CB at RB (before we bought Warnock). Bless Martin, he does some strange things that really do confuse me ?:) Anyway good luck to him, could be worse he could be Salifooooo
