Unoial Villa News...
Vital Villa will be down from 8pm tonight (17/11) for 90 mins for server maintenance.
Vital England voted James Milner as the man of the match v Brazil. To see what they had to say: England - Man of the match against Brazil
Talking about Milner, Fieldy: Martin O'Neill has heaped further praise on James Milner and whilst praising his versatility again, he even hints that he could be running the midfield from the middle before long. We all know Monny has been delighted with Milner's efforts from the right hand side, and his stint's as emergency fullback, and Capello seems very happy with him from the left. And more, blimey, is this the Milner Times?!?!
I like El Tel! The ex England manager (Terry Venables if you are too young to know who El Tel is!) says that James Milner can make the 2010 World Cup and compares him to pocket dynamo Alan Ball. believes James Milner could be England's 2010 version of Alan Ball. Venables say on the official site: 'There is a striking resemblance in the way James is staking a late claim to be in the squad for next summer's finals in South Africa. It reminds me so much of how Bally played his way into Sir Alf Ramsey's plans in 1966.' Full quotes and images: James Milner - The New Mr Ronseal?

Martin O'Neill says he is surprised that Luke Young decided to quit international football. He told the Sunday Mercury: 'My own personal view is that you should try to keep going for as long as you can - both at club level and international. However, at the end of the day, it's his decision. It's always up to the individual, particularly with international football. It's not my position to decide for people one way or the other. I do not know what has gone on before or what made him come to that decision.' Full quotes; www.sundaymercury.net More on Vital Villa: O'Neill Respects Young's England Decision

As Christmas approaches, the goose is getting fat, and the Villa supporter begins to dream of former glories. The 50th anniversary of Villa's 21 goals in three games is now with us, and some of us remember that time. But how about the more remote times? Fieldy: Benjamin Siegrist has gone down in Swiss history after helping them to an unexpected Under 17 World Cup win. Our youth goalie kept a clean sheet in Abuja as Switzerland rained on Nigeria's hopes of taking a 4th U17 title, to bag their own 'maiden' FIFA trophy. I went to the Paul McGrath / Ron Atkinson night that we'd publicised on Vital over the last few weeks. Great night... really, GREAT. I was too lazy (read - I was having a drink) to take photos and wasn't going to front page about it but then I just read this from fellow Vital Villan and so nearly the champ of the heads and tail game (mainly because he was sort of, kinda, how do I put this nicely? Oh yes, he was cheating!). For the conversation: Paul McGrath - Gentleman & Legend

I'm not convinced it is ever a good thing when fellow team mates have to keep talking about a player saying they will come good in the end?! Surely if they are good, they are good? However Ashley Young has said that Emile Heskey will still also come good. Surely Heskey is the finished product with loads of experience (not that many goals mind you - not goals to games ratio wise) so why is it taking so long to settle or is it just that he has settled and this is it? Full quotes: Ashley Young Defends Emile Heskey
Phil Gartside's plans to introduce a two-tier Premier League have been unanimously blocked by the Premier League. Premiership NO To Celtic & Rangers
We asked: Should Celtic & Rangers Be Allowed Into Prem? Seems not...! No 79% Yes, into a second tier 10% Yes, top level 9% Unsure 2%

Well, to start off, GK has got to 1000 posts... thanks GK and especially thanks to Mrs GK for 'lending him to us' for so long! On another note, GK was quoted on page 73 as saying... 'The Fear was correct' Doesn't matter about what, I just like to read that, feel free to all say similar whenever I express an opinion....! (And for those that really don't 'get it' I AM joking!.... or am I?!) Full article: General Krulak Update Thread Part 6
Not been much in the way of transfer gossip recently, only snippet I've seen was in the Daily Star. They claim that Nigel Hokey-Cokey is in demand and that the 3 b's will fight it out for a £5million winter transfer window move. Nigel Hokey-Cokey Wanted By The Three B's

Fieldy: Martin O'Neill had expressed his delight at Stephen Warnock's England inclusion, believing the call up to be a just reward for how he's settled in at the Villa. Speaking on the official site ahead of tomorrow's pointless money spinning friendly against Brazil - in some country that's neither England nor erm Brazil, sorry did I say money spinning? - Monny insisted he was 'thrilled for' Warnock who really needs a nickname. Thought for the day: Lionel Ritchie opened a Butchers Shop today, the sign in the window said 'Halal, is it meat your looking for?'
