Clark Makes The International Step Up

Ciaran Clark has been called up to the England U-21 side for their double header against Portugal and Lithuania.

The Portugal match on November 14 is a vital clash that England will want to win in Group Nine of the qualifiers. England sit 3 points ahead of the Portuguese who are third in table so will want to increase the gap to a more comfortable length.

Three points would also go a long way towards catching up Greece who are the early table leaders.

Following that match, England face bottom placed Lithuania.

Clark joins the squad and as we know is no stranger to International football having Captained the U19 squad.

It's only probably a matter of time before he takes that honour in the U21's.

The next Gary Cahil? Good for someone, but almost certainly not Villa.
