A Chance Earned By The Move

From Vital England:

Stephen Warnock feels that he move from Blackburn to Villa has been 'justified' by his recall to the England squad for the friendly with Brazil this weekend, a recall that he has earned.

He left Blackburn over the summer as he felt that his chances would improve playing for a club that has so many English players playing for them week-in-week-out, which means that Fabio Capello goes to Villa Park regularly to check on these players - and this has seen him catch his eye and gain this recall for the first time since winning his 1st cap, and to date only cap, against Trinidad in May 2008.

See Warnock's views on the above and more in this sky sports video below...

The injury to Ashley Cole has of course helped Warnock, but I think that he deserves this call-up and of course playing for Villa - who supply so many players for us now - has only helped him, although I still feel he is doing Blackburn a bit of a disservice as Capello does not seem to base his selection on 'who you play for', so if he was still with Blackburn and playing well for them this would have come along anyway...
