MON Calls For Carew Consistency

MON Calls For Carew Consistency

Whilst praising the big man after his performance today, Monny has called for far more consistency from 'he who is bigger than me and you'.

We all know Carew on his day is a world beater. One of the biggest 'annoyances' is his application and that is where fans are split.

In so many games this season and last he has been irrelevant, looked thoroughly disinterested and lost...today he was everything we want from the man.

He was bossy, he ran, he was up for it.

'John played very well. I have said on numerous occasions, when you get performances from him like that, he's absolutely brilliant.

'We're looking for consistency - not topping that performance necessarily - but getting close to it more often. John accepts that.

'When he's in that form, with the crowd right behind him, he's absolutely brilliant. He is a real handful when he plays like that. He was really strong.'

An on form Carew is unplayable. He's neat with his feet, he has good control, he drives through people and he's dominating in the air.

His goal today proves that, he created his own luck by simply 'keeping going' and that's not accounting for the parts he played in our other goals.

A Big John playing like that week in week out would be a dream come true.

Totally agree, on a day like today when he is interested and up for it, he is unplayable, he doesn't have enough days at the moment though and when he isn't on form, he is a passenger. Lets see more of the big man JC... please!

That's the first time this season I think that he's really on top of his game, perhaps the first time since the end of last winter when he got injured. It's great to see the real Carew back!

JC is the real deal. They all played well, Milner, Sidders, Ash & Gabby, Cuellar Dunne and Warnock, but the big man leaving Knight and Cahill on their backsides was pure theatre. A Great days work, more of the same, please.
