Downing Set To Play Before Year End?

Downing Set To Play Before Year End?

Well here is some good news, Stewart Downing could be playing before the year is out.

Martin O'Neill told the official site that the summer buy from Middlesbrough saw the specialist in the week and was 'very encouraged'.

Apparently he is now able to be mixing it up in training.

MON explained: 'It's almost like pre-season for him because he's been out since April. But it is very, very encouraging. He is a great lad with a great attitude and just wants to do it. Hopefully we'll see the best of him before Christmas. Hopefully he has no set-backs. He is doing ball-work and joined in with the other lads and next week we can really push him on a bit. It's very encouraging. '

Must admit, even if he doesn't play until January, I am looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the party.

Just wondering if we need a sweep stake on who will say 'he's just like a new signing' first?!?!?

thought he was cover for the goalie?!? Nah, seriously looking forward to seeing what Downing will bring to the party and if he is for the wing or center. Also want a picture of him in a Villa shirt, so hope he gets a bloody move on!
