A great debut article by custardcream on a massive problem in football: Buying a season ticket shouldn’t be a difficult thing to do. It should be an occasion that you look forward to – as each year goes past – one which leaves you in anticipation for the forthcoming season, with the belief that this year it will be ‘our year’ to upset the apple cart. That didn’t happen this year. The stop-maybe-stop-start nature of action in the transfer window followed by the dismal end to the season for Villa was something that really disheartened me. Full article: Everybody's Problem At Football?
Vital Villa asked, after the Cuellar suspension, who should play at right-back - yes, that is the sort of fun guys we are, imagine going out on the town with us? Anyway, 67% said Luke Young, strange thing to vote for really, a right-back at right-back? Guzan got 2% by the way! Fieldy: Stephen Warnock looks likely to have the yellow card he received against Everton rescinded after a case of mistaken identity. Full article: Warnock Gets Yellow Card Break
As mentioned in an article earlier in the week, the quarter final away trip to Portsmouth in the Carling Cup has been set for Tuesday, December 1. Kick off is 7:45pm. The game won't be shown live on tv.
Eric Lichaj's month loan spell to Lincoln has been ended prematurely following his straight red card for violent conduct at the weekend. According to Vital Lincoln Lichaj 'kicked Morecambe's Laurence Wilson in the chest whilst laying on the ground'. This as we know led to an immediate red card and a minimum 3 match ban. With the loan only being for a month Eric has returned.
Fieldy: Against Everton Brad Friedel clocked up 200 consecutive appearances, and it's a record that's unlikely to be beaten. Speaking on the official site both Monny and Warnock took the opportunity to praise Friedel's achievement and praise the man for his part in shoring up Villa's backline.
