'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Villa Boss Post West Ham Match Reaction

Martin O'Neill says Villa deserved at least a draw last night telling the official site: 'I think we did enough to get something.'

He says we were the better team in the first half and that 'we looked a real threat.'

'Obviously the goal just before half-time disrupted us. But we came fighting back and missed a penalty of our own. Ashley Young scored a really good goal and I thought we were going on to win it.'

And again with the tired statement.... 'I just thought in the last 15 minutes we looked a little bit tired.'

He also says despite the loss the team will fight back and he refused to talk about the penalties - actually wish more managers would do that, there is no point ranting about what has been, it won't change anything!?

He also again showed that he doesn't do tactics, much like Milner coming off at half time v Everton, MON said that Heskey - a left winger apparently? - came off at half time last night with a back injury.

tactics? lol.... will look that word up and get back to you! Just said in another thread, West Ham hadn't won since their opening day, we always seem to oblige when teams or players are on bad runs, we just aren't nasty enough and certainly aren't clinical enough. Wonder where Heskey will play next, we could do a sweep stake!

We are missing a natural finisher...makes me wish we'd taken a risk on Owen before Manure snapped him up. The fonz might be the answer long term, but short term we are looking short of goals.

Fonz will never get a look in. He didn't cost MON over 5 million, isn't 'experienced' enough and (probably) isn't his buddy.

I don't get to pay the money you lot do because of my location, but I certainly have to wake up at 4am on my saturdays to watch my team, Aston Villa, play. That's 4am after waking up at 8 am for work 5 days a week...That's 4 am after being *****ed drunk the night before. But I still do it, every game. And the past few weeks I've woken up to watch utter ****e. I will not be waking up this weekend, that is a promise.

MON talked about rotation several weeks ago. He does nothing, now speaks of the team being tired! Is it any wonder some of us have turned into O'Neill hating ranting lunatics?

los_angeles_villan & holte ender 1969 .. Me too living in Australia . You probably have the same problem as me .. All my friends are football fans but every one of them follow the big 4 clubs . That means i am bottom of the pile all the time i might as well support Grimbsy ( at least England won the ashes ) . Its amazing how many Chelsea fans there are now compared to 6 or 7 years ago .

What's the point of beating the top four sides if we're going to lose to bottom 4 sides. Last year we went on 10 away games unbeaten, think it was all wins and a club record. This year, MON complains about playing away. We are better at home but we MUST play 4-5-1 away, everyone can see it but MON feels obliged to play Heskey and Nige in whatever position is free rather than fitting a square peg into a square hole!!!!!!!!!

Can't even imagine what some of you would be saying if we were where Everton are.... We have played 11, Won 5, Drawn 3, Lost 3. Level on points with Liverpool and a point behind Man City with a game in hand. I'm beginning to think that I'm logging in to the Newcastle site by mistake such are the expectations here! I'm frustrated that we haven't got points against West Ham and Blackburn, but I'm not thinking about jumping off the nearest bridge boys!
