Warnock Gets Yellow Card Break

Stephen Warnock looks likely to have the yellow card he received against Everton rescinded after a case of mistaken identity.

Having been previously booked whilst at Blackburn, and then at Wolves and Sunderland, the fourth booking was an unwelcome gift from referee Lee Probert in the Everton clash, but after an appeal by Villa, the yellow will now officially be presented to Stiliyan Petrov.

Shame we can't appeal the pathetic second yellow given to Carlos and suspend Probert for a series of dodgy decisions in the match.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail, Monny joked it was 'tough luck Stiliyan' as to the card being passed on but was delighted the referee had admitted his mistake.

"I think the referee has accepted that he got the identification wrong."

Warnock himself was a little more unforgiving, commenting that the ref had told hi the booking was for a foul after Stan's initial challenge:

"He actually said to me it was a foul after Petrov`s foul. I didn`t actually do anything, he fell on me and he booked me for it.'

good to see at least one error put right but the poor standard of refereeing this season is getting beyond a joke. I can see why no team, journalists or commentators have mentioned anything about the respect the ref malarchy
