Friddy B's Fantastic Record

Against Everton Brad Friedel clocked up 200 consecutive appearances, and it's a record that's unlikely to be beaten.

Speaking on the official site both Monny and Warnock took the opportunity to praise Friedel's achievement and praise the man for his part in shoring up Villa's backline.

The gaffer is pretty sure that Friedel's record will never be broken, referencing David James who he 'felt had gone on forever'.

'I can't see the record he eventually sets ever being broken, not in my lifetime anyway.

'When you look at the man he surpassed (James), he managed to get to 167 and you felt he had gone on forever.'

Warnock described it as a 'brilliant achievement' and said:

'It's remarkable and he deserves all the credit he gets for it.

'He's just a fantastic goalkeeper giving the back four so much confidence.'

Warnock also adds that he doesn't think Friedel has finished yet and will continue for another good few years. On the Everton match, he added:

'A lot of my mates, my dad and my brother are all Everton fans so to get involved in the goal which got us back on track was really nice.

'It gave me an extra edge being an ex-Liverpool man too. I was getting stick in the game - light-hearted banter - so it was nice to do well and come away with something.'
