Unoial Villa News...

Not been much gossip recently, only bit I can see today is in the People saying that Wolves will try to sign Craig Gardner for £2million in January. To be fair, that might not be a bad move for the lad if he isn't going to get a real chance at Villa?

Fieldy: James Collins, Eric Lichaj and Nathan Baker are stepping up their experience having previously agreed to go out on loan for a taste of League football. Full article: Villa Youngsters Make Their Mark

As you will know by now, we have a Carling Cup quarter final draw away at Portsmouth. The game will be played in the week beginning November 30. MON said of the draw: 'I think it's a difficult tie for us. It would have been terrific if we'd been at home - it really would. Portsmouth won comfortably this afternoon so maybe their revival has started. It'll be tough but we're in there fighting.' Full article: Click Here

Wadey: Me Guzan - you Jane! Although it hardly registered on the entertainment meter, it has been a very decent week for Villa, as they took a point at Molineux and then survived a very tricky sojourn to the wilds of the North-East to keep themselves in the League Cup. Fieldy: Martin O'Neill has admitted he would like to be given a goalscoring midfielder for Christmas....well in fact the sooner the better. Speaking to the Birmingham Mail Monny admitted Villa are desperate for a player in the mould of David Platt or Top man Ian Taylor, that can contribute 10 or so goals from the middle part - describing such a player as potentially being the secret to success or the missing link in our quest for glory. Villa will be trialing a new match ticket category for the upcoming home games against Bolton Wanderers, Hull City and Stoke City. This new 'wing' category in the Holte End, Doug Ellis and Trinity Road Stand is designed to bridge the gap in match ticket prices. This is in order to make them even more affordable to supporters while also helping to fill Villa Park for these crucial games. Full details and prices: www.avfc.co.uk

Thought for the day: people keep on saying well done to me, so I went to the doctor and he said I am suffering from premature congratulation
