Suspensions and Injuries

Suspensions and Injuries

You do wonder if we've lost more than we gained from the Everton match, but then again maybe not.

Speaking on the official site Monny praised Lee Probert for getting the first red card decision right, but wonders why he didn't realise Carlos got a touch on the ball for the second.

'I think it was pretty clear that he's got the first decision absolutely correct. It was a pretty nasty challenge.

'I think that he got the second one wrong and I thought at the time Carlos got a touch on the ball.'

In a normal world the suspension to Carlos will see either Beye given a chance, or see the return of Luke in his favoured position. You can't however rule out NRC at right back.

As for the injury front, Milner did take a knock leading to his half time substitution and there are concerns over Petrov.

'James was pretty sore in his calf. He continued on manfully in that first half and I decided to make a change just before the second period.'

So hopefully it doesn't sound serious, but you do wonder if this is the opportunity Albrighton has been waiting for.

'Stiliyan is very, very sore at this moment. He tried to carry on, but he eventually had to come off.'

If Petrov is out then who comes straight in, does NRC get the chance, will Delph be given another opportunity - or maybe forgotten man Gardner?

How bad was the referee? Completely lost the game. Gave everything to Villa so the crowd got on his back so then he just started giving free kicks for anything that came into his head at the time to both sides. Sent off our player so the crowd called him a *****er, so he decided to send off your full back. Ridiculous excuse for a referee.

To be honest mate we've been so, so, so, so very bad for 7 games now, our first half performance was actually good by our new low standards! Second half both teams seemed to be as bad as each other and the referee was desperate to get the foul count up as much as possible for whatever reason, so the game was poor as it went on yes, but for us by our recent form, we were fantastic!

Luke Young will come in now and Cuellar will struggle to get his place back its a shame for him but I think its a stronger back four with Luke Young at right back.
