Collins Cool As A Cucumber

Collins Cool As A Cucumber

Never really understood that phrase, cool as ice maybe, but cucumbers are only refrigerated.

Anyhoo, speaking on the official site after last night's penalty showdown, James Collins said he was 'quietly confident' when stepping up to take his penalty because he's used to taking them anyway.

'I take penalties quite regularly, whenever we've gone to penalties or Wales have got a spot-kick I always chuck my name in the hat.

'I'm quite confident on penalties so I was quietly confident going up.'

He admits it would've been nice to see Sunderland off during normal time but the main aim was progression and we achieved that.

He was also full of praise for Brad Guzan after his penalty heroics, but let's face it - who isn't.

If the game had been in any way entertaining, we'd be comparing it to Tranmere!

James Collins who? I thought on transfer deadline day, BBC live transfer day writer, said 5 million! some pretty average players going for a lot of money (implying Collins)... I have been impressed with him from day one, such a quality defender, look where West Ham are at the moment..coincidence? Collins seeemed to have been overlooked.. always about Upson.. gonna be a great signing this season, I just know it!

krisvilla - I don't think you can link West ham's position to Collins departure. He was injured for long periods during his stay there. Just hope he keeps fit.
