Oh no, what a blow, Darren Bent will miss the Carling Cup game v Villa through injury! Hurrah! Darren Bent OUT For Villa Clash.. HURRAH!

There is a report in the Birmingham Mail by Lisa Smith today that is quite interesting. It has quotes from Ashley Young who suffered racist abuse and bullying as a youngster when he frustrated fellow players with his skills. Young has now been made one of the Midlands region`s new ambassadors for the Kick-It Out campaign. Full article: Click Here

Well, it was always going to happen, wasn't it? Full details: Fear Is Driving Martin O'Neill Out Of Villa Park

Nicky Shorey and Habib Beye have resumed training after picking up minor knocks last week. Full details on the official site: www.avfc.co.uk

Stiliyan Petrov has told the official site just how important Gabby Agbonlahor is for Villa. Saying how much the player has impressed him both on the field and in training. 'Look at the way he took his goal. He used his power and his muscle, he turned and scored a great goal. He's a big player for us. He's so important and the great thing is he's still young. If he continues working hard, he's got a big, big future ahead of him.'

Ticket offer for Villa v Bolton: Click Here

Coach tickets for the Sunderland trip have now 'sold out' (they were free but you get the gist) MON said to the official site: 'I am delighted with the response of the fans who have taken up the offer of the football club to have free travel on the buses. That is a major boost for the squad. I am thankful and very, very pleased with the supporters - and so are the players. I think it's terrific.' Well done to Lisa Smith for pointing out to the manager that fans were struggling cost wise and for MON to take immediate action. Fab stuff.

Fieldy: Gabby Agbonlahor has backed Emile Heskey to win round the Villa faithful once he has a proper run in the team. Speaking on the official site Gabby talked about his own improvement, and learning to make the chances he gets count more often but also defended his colleague after grabbing the assist for his goal. Full article: Gabby Backs Emile For Success

Fieldy: Stiliyan Petrov believes the disappointment surrounding our recent 1-1 draw with Wolves, shows how far the club have progressed under Monny. I must admit I kind of see his point, but it doesn't factor in that we barely turned up for the match at all. Speaking on the official site Petrov said it was probably the kind of game a few seasons ago we would've snatched defeat from the jaws of victory having conceded so soon after scoring ourselves. There is a report in The Express by John Wragg part of which has quotes from Richard Dunne talking about our strange ability to raise our game for the 'big' games and fail in following games against teams we really should be beating. Full article: Dunne Looking For Villa To Raise Game
