Warnock Cares Only For 3 Points

Speaking ahead of the derby clash against Wolves, Stephen Warnock has said that the performance from the team in the game is irrelevant, it's only the 3 points that matter.

Speaking on the official site Warnock is excited by playing in his second derby of the season already, but has warned that our result against Chelsea will mean nothing unless we are able to follow it up with another 3 points immediately.

'You could be terrible for the majority of the match and then nick a goal in the final few minutes. That doesn't matter.

'As long as you win the game and pick up the three points, that's all that counts.

'People are talking about the Chelsea result and rightly so but it will be quickly forgotten if we don't follow it up with a win.'

I can certainly see his point, whilst it would be nice to play Wolves off the park and put in a really sterling performance, the bottom line is it's a derby match. It'll be scrappy, and it probably won't be pretty.

In games like this the history books will only record Villa's dominance over our local rivals by the score. 3 points are all that is important this time round.

Completely right. Beating Pool and Chelski sends out a message of intent, but without getting a run of results, it means nothing. I'd love a great game tomorrow, but I'd take 1-0 off Milner's ar*e than an entertaining 4-4 draw any day! UTV
