Collins Delighted With First Goal In 3 Years

James Collins was happy for more than one reason with his goal against Chelsea, not only did it gift us all 3 points, it was also his first goal in 3 years!

Speaking on the official site today Collins joked he wasn't sure how to celebrate what was to become the winner, because it had been that long since he last found the back of the net he couldn't remember what he was meant to do next.

'It is great because I haven't scored for around three years now so I didn't really know how to celebrate!

'But I was delighted - to get the winner in a game of this size is always nice.'

It also appears there's a little competition running between our two new centre halves.

'Dunny has already got two so I had to catch him up!'

Am I alone in thinking if we have centre halves who can chip in with 10-15 goals between them, which is possible given the goals v games ratio of them both, Europe could be a dead cert again.

did you know against who his last league goal was scored? Yes! You've guessed it - CHELSEA in a game we won 4-1! Does he not like us?

Bit harsh... Most chelsea fans have been really decent about the defeat, unlike their fairy white neighbours would be. I can tolerate chelsea but not spurs.

Agreed about Chelsea fans. They always appear to be very gracious in defeat and not too arrogant in victory. Didn't really like the club because of all the 'money', Drogba's histrionics etc. However, Drogba's behaviour was exemplary on Saturday and my attitude toward them is definitely 'softening'. They played some lovely football, which made our victory even better. I still feel we need a player similar to Anelka to move on to the next level, but we have a really strong squad now. Just need the 'icing on the cake'
