Fulham Don't Want Him, Liverpool Or Wigan Might
Ha, the Emile Heskey rumour mill is in full swing.
Some papers are saying that Rafa Benitez might renew his interest in the England 'striker' having missed out of him when we grabbed the hapless target man. Why hapless? Well, 12 starts for us, 7 sub appearances and just two goals. That is a joke for a supposed top line striker, if he put in the effort I don't think many of us would have that many complaints but seriously?

Wigan chief Dave Whelan says in the The Telegraph paper that he'd welcome back Heskey: Whelan said: 'We could well be interested. I have a great deal of sympathy for him – he is one wonderful footballer. When he is on the park you know you are going to get 110%. I absolutely thought he was fantastic for us but he was coming to the end of his contract and he wanted to move on so I honoured that.'
He added that 'Everybody in football would like Emile somewhere in their squad. He is that kind of lad. But I'd be very surprised if Aston Villa sell him and I still think he has got a good future at Villa.'
Is this the same Emile Heskey we are talking about? Also, wonder what Wigan's manager thinks of these comments from his chairman about who they might or might not buy in January!? Bit over fond of his own voice Whelan isn't he?!
A report in the Sun apparently dismisses the rumour that Heskey might be Fulham bound.
And for the record, I'd still like the guy - who they say is a top bloke and really 'nice' which might actually be his problem - to come on come Saturday v Chelsea and terrorize their defence and SHOOT and hey, maybe even score. Then again, after his recent comments, if I was the manager, he'd be in the reserves at best. After the pathetic comments from the agent of Curtis Davies last week, the last thing we needed was a misfiring striker who isn't doing his job to talk about moving on.

Agree totally. Heskey's attitude stinks. (Nearly as bad as his goal/game ratio.) If Liverpool do go in 4 him it shows just how far the club have dropped. They're talking about someone to ease the pressure on Torres, Heskey isn't that man. He isn't a goal scorer. And for the record Emile, target men ARE allowed to score, just ask John Carew. A guy who if he was English (& still only half fit) would be taking your place at International Level aswell as club. Roll on January!

for me i say let him go in january and go get a decent goal scoring striker, shame bent is not still up for grabs although he would probably choke under there pressure here to score and the only other english striker would be carlton cole who looks ok in spells but would not be what we are after, cant see MON taking a gamble on a foreign striker in january so if he does go i dont think he will be replaced by anyone other than delfouenso

I reckon Paul Hart would be the only one stupid enough to buy him in the premier league. I hope MON wont be searching in the bargain bin for a new striker, bring back Harewood!!!
