Is That A Gardner I See Before Me?

Craig Gardner has tipped his brother, Gary, to confuse the fans in the near future and become a regular in the match day squad.

Speaking to the Sunday Mercury following their reserve stint last week, Craig was full of praise for his younger sibling, who if you remember set up Gardner Snr for our equiliser against Wolves!

Gary is a wee 5 years younger than his older brother, but the Academy and Youth coaches have always tipped him for greater things.

It seems Gardner Snr is full of advice Gardner Jnr as they both plan out their future careers:

'I've told him he should keep his feet on the ground and I tell him what I have done to get where I am now.'

Craig adds that should he keep a level head about him, it's surely only a matter of time before Monny comes a knocking with his love of young English talent.

Appraising his brothers skills, he adds:

'He's strong, he's good with both feet and he's a quick thinker.'

Finishing with 'believe me, he'll go far' is simply an echo of everything we have heard about this lad over the last few months.

Those who have seen him play don't have a bad word to say about him, and yet again it looks like the lads looking after the youngsters have uncovered and are training up another gem for us.

Given that Gary travelled with the squad for the Peace Cup and apparently loved every minute of it, I wonder how much he'll adore his debut?
