Unoial Villa News...

News isn't at a premium at the moment with the international break, however there are some bits. Kicking off with a few promo's but then plenty of round ups of quotes etc which aren't really suitable for individual articles!

First off, why not join up and join in? The Vital Lions club could become great fun, the benefits are explained here and it could lead to plenty of good events exclusive to Lions Supporter Club members: *Vital Lions Supporters Club* Join Up!

You got a question for Paul McGrath? If so, leave it here! An Interview With Paul McGrath On Vital Villa

An evening with Big Ron and Paul McGrath tickle your fancy? Well, why not get in touch with me if you want to come on the Vital table or directly with Chris: **An Evening With Paul McGrath & Big Ron**

(Just to be clear, I'm not profiting from promoting any of the above)

Stephen Warnock, our summer arrival from Blackburn Rovers says the best is yet to come from him. ''I think once my level of fitness gets to where I want to be, I get used to the lads and they get used to me there will be a lot more to come, hopefully. I've been pleased so far that things have gone well and we haven't conceded too many goals as the three new lads coming in, myself, Richard Dunne and James Collins. That's been quite important to us to prove that we're capable of doing the right things and doing a good job together.' He also hopes that he'll be able to get forward more 'there's going to be times when you pick and choose when you can and can't go. I still need to learn that probably, but at Blackburn there would be games when I was playing centre midfield or left midfield.'

Ciaran Clark has told the official site how great it is to have Richard Dunne and James Collins at the club saying he can learn a lot from them. 'You look at the way they train, the way they behave around the training ground and it's fantastic. I look up to them and try and take on board what they do and the advice they give me. If you do something wrong, they are always there with advice.' Full quotes: www.avfc.co.uk

The Villa youth lost 1-0 to Watford. Tony McAndrew said 'We are disappointed but having said that we should have managed to grind out a 0-0. We've talked about it a lot and if you don't do the nitty gritty - the tracking, the heading in the box - then you're going to lose games.'

Bad news one and all, Emile Heskey might want to leave Villa.... Sorry, I know you'll all be gutted: OH NO... Heskey Might Look To Leave!

Gareth Barry chipped in saying in the Daily Mail: 'The World Cup is in the back of everyone's mind so I can understand where Emile is coming from,' Barry said. 'It's not just Emile, it's that time of year when you want to be playing regularly. He has his place in the England team at the moment and won't want anything to change that. Playing regularly for your club can help you cement a place in the England squad.'

Ashley Young said in the Birmingham Mail 'I know there's a World Cup at the end of the season. But that's then and it's about now and concentrating on the games that I play for Villa and doing well for the club. Hopefully, fingers crossed, when it comes to the time of the World Cup squad being announced then I'll be in it. As a youngster you always want to play in the big competitions, the UEFA Cups, the Champions Leagues, cup finals and of course the World Cup.' On his current form he added, 'I think I'm getting there. I've been happy with the way I've started. Obviously I'd like a few more goals and assists to myself, but I'm just looking forward to the rest of the season.'

According to the Mirror, James Collins might get the chance to fulfill a lifetime ambition by captaining Wales on Wednesday v Liechtenstein.

Thought for the day: I have just returned from a diplomatic trip to the Congo and I can testify that at no point did I see anyone drinking Um Bongo.
