OH NO... Heskey Might Look To Leave!

OH NO... Heskey Might Look To Leave!

Well, this morning is a dark dark day in the history of Aston Villa. I'm typing this article trying to hold back the tears, in fact, that is a lie, I've been weeping since reading the quotes from our much lauded and top striker Emile Heskey.

Sorry to bring you such devastating news but our Holte End hero might consider his future in January and could ..... sorry, I had to take a break as I couldn't see what I was typing through such moistened eyes.... look to leave.

PLEASE DON'T GO EMILE. What would we do without the big man's goals?

The 31-year-old who has started as many England games as he has Villa games this season said:

'I will have to sit down and think about my next move. I don't know whether I can get a World Cup place if I'm not playing for Villa.'

He adds, 'I'm happy to be playing for England and, obviously, not playing at club level is difficult. It's something I will have to look at when I get back and try to address it.'

I'm old fashioned, or maybe just old. Strikers used to have to score goals, no scrub that, strikers at least need to SHOOT the blinking ball goal wise (between the goal posts Emile) and if you don't do your job for your club, you don't get to play at international level and lets face it, Emile has not does his job since coming to Villa. At the start of this season he admitted he hadn't settled in last season following his move from Wigan. For goodness sake, how difficult can it be, it isn't as if he was a foreign player still learning the language and culture.

2 goals in 12 games Emile, THAT is why you aren't in the team. Start scoring, hey presto, you don't get left out. Not rocket science is it? Close the door on the way out!

Steve Bruce and Fabio Capello on Heskey. The Mystery Of Emile Heskey!

Our latest poll asks whether Heskey should be being played or not.

Mr O'Neill's mistakes will return to haunt us later this season. Remind me, did we buy any strikers in the summer? With emule gone, poor Gabby will be burned out by Christmas at this rate. I'm not sure John Carew will ever return to full fitness - he's had a long time to do so.... Sorry, but I'm just heavily disappointed by lack of vision by our main man to see that we're light up front. Even worse (or would it be better all round?) if Heskey leaves.

Heskey is one of the best in the world at playing the ball down to his strike partner, unfortunately, we don't have that sort of player beside him, Gabby is better on his own as I don't think he can read the flick on's etc, and Carew is to big to be the little man in a partnership with Heskey, if Bent, Owen or Defoe were at the club then I could see a point to Heskey, as it is, there is no reason to have him, as we don't use him to his strengths and instead he just looks off the pace playing alongside Young and Gabby. I do genuinely believe him to be a top player, but I just don't think he is suited to our style.

Brilliant news! If MO'N insists on that sort of player I'd take Kevin Davies or have Carlton bk. (Is it true James Collins started out as a striker years ago?) I don't care if we don't get a penny for Heskey. Just get rid. Having him in our team cost us Champions League & it's like he's constantly trying to cost us games with his cameo's. His recent attitude & threatening to leave unless he gets games should get him dropped from the squad. (Take a look at Craig Gardner & his attitude Emile!) ... After the Pompey debut, How did it go so wrong?

I have to agree with YJ. He just doesn't fit into our system, none of our forwards suit his style of play, nor do we have any central midfielders who like to make late runs and support him. Shame, but I think it'll be best for everyone involved if he moves on. Maybe fat head at Sunderland will be interested.
