Milly's Special Praise For Defensive Unit

Milly's Special Praise For Defensive Unit

James Milner has said how surprised and impressed he has been with the new lads at the back, given how quickly they have all gelled and had a positive impact on our results.

Speaking on the official site Milly said that they deserved a lot of credit for creating an understanding that helped see us go on our winning run.

Given the fact we are so solid in defence, Milner believes it's made all the difference to our attacking play, giving everyone more freedom to roam forward.

'I'm delighted for the lads at the back. They seem to have slotted straight in and that's all credit to them.

'You can see from our defensive record the last few games it has been solid. To have that base is good for the whole team.'

Milly adds in that with the added threat from Dunne and Collins, we will also be far more dangerous during set pieces and he's confident that we will be always be good for a goal or two in every game we play.

Nice confidence from the young man and nice praise for his colleagues. I still don't believe in terms of attack we are anywhere near good enough yet. We simply aren't clinical enough, and we are one dimensional. Even the fast counter attacking football of the first two seasons has been replaced by lumped balls up the right, or 'find Ash'.

The players we have should be looking for 2-3 goals a game and we are more than capable of achieving that but it's not clicking for whatever reason at the moment.

Once it does, as I'm now getting bored of saying we will absolutely hammer somebody and the season would be a lot more fun than nicking games 1-0.
