Gabby To Grab International Chance

Gabby Agbonlahor has said he is aware of the importance of putting in a good performance should he get on the pitch in England's upcoming double headers.

Speaking to the Daily Mail Gabby admitted that recently he has found his form again after his second half of the season blip and although he's on a decent scoring run for us, he knows he has to make an impact in the following two games if he is hoping to clinch a place in Fabio Capello's eventual squad.

'This call up means a lot to me. It means the England manager appreciates what I'm doing at the moment.

'He has given me a chance so hopefully I can reward him.'

There's no reason to think Gabby won't get some on pitch time. We have already qualified, and Capello looks likely to blood a few more newbies to see if they sink or swim rather than persisting with those he knows well for 90 minutes. In both games he might only get an hour between them, but that should be long enough for him to find his feet and show at least a portion of what we all know he's capable of.

One things for sure, his place is the squad is squarely down to him.

Would be good to see Gabby get at least 30mins (preferably come on at half time). It certinaly shows that Capello has faith in him if he is being picked over Bent. Having read the full interviews with Gabby on this subject I was also pleasantly surprised to see that his confidence infront of reporters has grown - something I think he must have been working on over the summer - we all liked to take the p*** out of him for his, lets say, cautious (slow???!!!) approach when speaking, so its good to see that he's learning in other areas!

Has Gabby ever played alongside Rooney before? Could be a quality partnership

Hope the lad grabs his chance with both hands and runs with it, if he does, no bug gers going to catch him.
