'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Delighted I Dunne It

Richard Dunne was over the moon, despite his muted celebration, at bagging his first goal for the Villa against former club Manchester City.

Speaking on the official site our almost match winner was overjoyed with our performance and believes that our draw with City shows that we can compete at the top of the league.

'It is a big game. You want to do well and you want to win.

'It gave us a great start. It was a really entertaining game and we showed tonight that as much as Man City want to push that top four, we are capable of joining them.

Out jumping Barry to score the opener, Dunne has more praise for Warnock's delivery than he does his own finish, and adds:

'It was perfect and I would have been disappointed if I had have missed.

'Like I said, it was nice to get the goal and it gave us a good start.'

Humble aswell as colossus it seems!

I was a bit uncertain about the signing of Dunne, but I'm warming to him. Early days yet but he's just the player we were looking for to replace Martin Laursen at the back.

Certainly gets stuck in, one of what looks like a very good centre back pairing.

you will love dunney just as much as we will prolly love bazza, when your backs are against the wall there is no one better than dunne hes a monster of a man and has hidden pace his last ditch tackles are spot on 99% of the time and he can single handedly keep you a clean sheet, BUT he cant read a game that well and has to many lapses in concentration he gives silly fouls away (like his handball last week) aswell as to many mistakes and he cant pass the ball to save his life he usually lumps it forward to the other keeper, BUT hes the dunneymonster and will bleed for you , sniff sniff treat him well
