Shane Lowry has been named in the Australian squad to play the Netherlands this weekend. Lowry decided recently that his future lay with the Aussies after originally playing for the Republic of Ireland U17 and U21's.

There are some more quotes - or maybe they are the same quotes just repeated...! - about the return of right-back Luke Young. MON says the player is close and should be ready after the international break. MON said: 'Luke is doing really fine. I would say by the time we come back after the international break he will just be about right. There is a reserve game coming up which he would probably would need but he is doing very well indeed. There are no ill-effects from the injury (he picked up a thigh injury in pre-season) and, psychologically, I think he is improving greatly since the death of his half-brother.'

Martin O'Neill has quite rightly savaged Curtis Davies agent who made some pathetic comments last week which will only serve to alienate the player with the fans and the club - maybe the player should now step in and apologise for any offense caused, especially to the many thousands of Villa (and other) fans struggling to find gainful employment during the economic crisis which seemingly has passed by many players judging by their lack of respect towards those who struggle to pay for their tickets to watch these 'heroes'. That left 32% saying 100% yes, you don't cross MON and that his career is over. 22% voted, no, he'll work his way back leaving 6% voting 'It was anyway imho'. Be interesting to see if he makes the line up on Monday night v Manchester City!?
