Trinity Of Villans In England Squad

Gabby Agbonlahor has been called back into the England squad following the hand injury to Spurs striker Jermain Defoe.

Gabby will join James Milner and .... I know, amazing really... Emile Heskey in the squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Ukraine and Belarus.

Strangely, Sunderland's on form striker Darren Bent has failed to make the grade for Fabio Capello's squad.

Also missing from the squad is Ashley Young, hopefully he'll soon burst back into form following a slow start to this season and force his way back into contention.

Full squad:

Rob Green, David James, Paul Robinson.

Wayne Bridge, Wes Brown, Ashley Cole, Rio Ferdinand, Glen Johnson, Joleon Lescott, John Terry, Matthew Upson.

Gareth Barry, David Beckham, Michael Carrick, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon, James Milner, Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Gabriel Agbonlahor, Carlton Cole, Peter Crouch, Emile Heskey, Wayne Rooney.

Capello has proved he doesn't pick a squad on form as he originally said he would. If he did, Heskey wouldn't get anywhere near & Bent would definitely be in. Upson who has just returned from injury is in with Man Utd substitute Michael Carrick. Surely Gary Cahill & Reo-Coker should have got in before them? Anyway, the less Villa players risking injury for England the better. (Except Heskey!)

They see something in Heskey we don't stu, think he does pick on form though, look at Gabby being picked but Ashley Young not.

the heskey thing always confuses me. He's never played well for Villa, and he doesnt deserve a place in the england squad. But i guess he is a big unit that holds the ball up for the rest of the team to catch up and join the attack. Very pleased for Gabby, although I'm suprised Bent didnt get a call up, if gabby is on form, bent is on fire. He's scored in alomost every match for Sunderland, against big teams too like man utd. We all know why Young didnt get a call up, Milner is ahead of him now for that left hand side now, Young fails to deliver the performances he has shown for villa...too inconsistent i might add

Hopefully it'll be a kick up the ass that Young needs. I think Kirkland should be in ahead of Robinson aswell. You could be right Fear (about Capello's form policy) but seeing the likes of Carrick, Upson & Heskey being picked leaves me to think he should be more consistent. With every squad he names there is usually players who don't deserve to be in it. I suppose he is consistent in his calling up of the never IN-form donkey Heskey!

I can see why Heskey is there, because what he brings the teams overall play (which is something I'm pleased with since Capello took over, its no longer about the individual names, but a team effort now). But he can only keep picking him (whilst he not playing for Villa) for a short while longer now. Carton Cole is just as strong on the ball, and also playing for his club week in week out. Crouch has been on fire too, maybe he’s not as “beefy” as the other two, but is a good target man regardless of his bambi legged approach.
