Tickets for Monday nights clash between Aston Villa and Manchester City are still on sale. This will be Gareth Barry's first trip back to Villa Park and Richard Dunne's first game against his former team, so plenty is riding on it! + info on the half season tickets: Click Here
Stiliyan Petrov has said the team don't need any extra motivation to get back to winning ways after the hurt they felt following the Blackburn performance. He said: 'I feel so much pride when I wear the armband. When you lead a club and team like Villa, it's just a great honour. It's a big responsibility. It was frustrating at the weekend but in general what we have at the moment is a desire to win and a desire to put things right again. We'll bounce back.' Full article: Desire To Put Things Right
Not something we see mentioned much but the Villa ladies beat Luton Town 2-1 according to the official site.
Martin O'Neill has been talking to the official site about the exciting Monday night home game v Man City. He said: 'It is definitely a game to savour even at this early stage in the season.' Full article: avfc.co.uk
Ashley Young says that Gabby Agbonlahor's start to the season means he must be in contention for the England squad. 'Gabby has been brilliant for us from the start of the season.' Adding on the England set up: 'He’s not been in the squad the last couple of games and he finds himself in a situation like I was at one stage last season. You have to get your head down and do well for the club. As long as he is doing that for the club you will always get that recognition with England and, if he keeps going the way he is, I don’t think he can be left out of the squad.' Full article and his goalscoring record: The World (Cup) Is At Gabby's Feet
Talking about Gabby, even Stanly Victor Collymore has been putting his two pennies worth in. Collymore believes Gabby has silenced his critics with his goals to games ratio this season. Full quotes: Click Here
Martin O'Neill said the other day that Luke Young is looking to return soon: 'Luke's feeling better all the time. I would look to seeing him come back after the international break.' Be good to have him back. Forum thread: Click Here
Fieldy: Marc Albrighton has apparently always been the thoughts of Tony McAndrew, our youth team Guru, Grand Wizard of the Villa Order, and all round general nice guy. Speaking on the official site today in response to Marc Albrighton's new shiny 3 year contract extension McAndrew admits the only real problem he ever had with Marc was that he could be too hard himself and has always been the biggest critic of his own performances. Not a bad thing really. Full quotes: Click Here
Ouch, I have a bit of a bite following comments from Curtis Davies agent on the near slave labour rates his player is paid at Villa! The Woes Of Curtis Davies?
Better quotes from Davies about the competition for places when he returns on the official site, I mean the quotes are on the official site, not that he will return to the .... oh sod it, you know what I mean! avfc.co.uk
Right, sod this, I need to nip off and cook myself a bacon butty, then I'll finish today's Villa Times... I'm wasting away here...
That is better, mustard and tomato sauce on the rolls, bacon cooked with plenty of cayenne pepper... you really can't beat it! Right, where were we? Oh yes, the Villa Times!
Fieldy: Martin O'Neill has told the youngsters to keep faith in the fact that the only reason many of them aren't regulars in our first team is because fully fledged internationals are keeping them out. Speaking on the official site today after the reserves made it four wins out of four in the Reserves League last night, Moony looked back wistfully at the Europa league admitting the Premiership is hardly the place for constant experimenting. Well well, the press are at least trying to bring us some gossip, made up it may be, but at least it gets the tongues wagging ! According to the Daily Star both Tottenham and Arsenal are interested in Nigel Hokey-Cokey. Spurs is no great shock really, Appy Arry has been linked before, not sure I've seen any links to Arsenal previously but hey, why not?! 2+2= NRC wanting back into London and last time I looked Arsenal were in London! :o) Shock horror, we are also being linked with a player in: More Aston Villa Press Transfer Talk!

Craig Gardner says he is no quitter. Awful title warning... it can only be Fieldy (well, ok, I've had my fair share as well!) Not On Gardnering Leave Or Looking For A New Plot
Now for some pudding....!
Thought for the day: I've just finished Great Expectations, and I have to say I was a little disappointed! ![]()
