'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sunday's Aston Villa Press Transfer Talk!

Good grief, we have a few snippets of transfer gossip today!

According to the Sunday people Villa are interested in Sunderland keeper Marton Fulop who is seen as a potential replacement for 38-year-old Brad Friedel who pulled off a couple of fantastic saves yesterday by the way!

The Sunday Sun claim that Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate is after Villa midfielder, or as they call him 'misfit' Nigel Hokey-Cokey on a loan deal.

He has been linked to Boro before, not convinced we should be loaning out any player this season, despite the 'fight' they need to be men and get over it, get him back in the team and keep our squad numbers at a reasonable level.

Then again, if they can't get over a little spat, it doesn't speak well of either of them and in that case, the player should be shipped out as the boss is going nowhere and you can't have his authority questioned.

All paper talk really though, so hey ho!

Meanwhile, in a bit of slightly related but not really news (I do speak junk at times don't I?!) the Sunday People claim that Spurs want Bolton (and obviously former Villa... wish the 'former' bit wasn't there) defender Gary Cahill. The report claims he'd cost the White Hart Lane outfit a massive £20million.

I'm sure the £6m we wasted on Dunne + Zat Knight would have been enough to bring him bk. Oh well ...

not convinced that Dunne will prove a waste? He's still only 29, plenty of mileage left there I reckon.

apparently, Milan and Juve are after him, so I wouldnt be too quick to make that bet StuLinney. As regards NRC, will be a real shame if we loose him, but if MON is pigheadedly resigned as he was to not playing him as he was with Harewood, Sorensen, Baros and Berger after a slight spat, he might as well go for his own sake. As regards the keeper, who cares, more average players for good money!
