MF: John Carew has urged Fabio Capello to take a second look at Gabby Agbonlahor after his recent performances for the claret and blue. Speaking to SSN, Carew said that Capello could do far worse than give Gabby another shot at England glory.'Gabby should be the England squad if you ask me - definitely. He's in terrific shape, has the explosiveness of pace, plus the power - and he's scoring goals.' Full article: The Hulk Backs Mini Me for England

Martin O'Neill has had his final word on the spat with midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker. Details, if it doesn't bore you to tears like it has me! Manager Ends The Hokey Cokey Contretemps

Oh and some stuff on the argument by Sidwell who says 'We've put it aside, got our heads down and worked hard. Whatever happens on that front will be dealt with in house I'm sure.
You can see how the gaffer is on the sidelines. He is no different in training. It's the same with Nigel, he is a very passionate person. I'm sure it's going to get forgotten, put to bed. I'm sure they'll have a sit down and have a chat about it.' Full article: Sidders Backs Monny And Nige To Sort It Out

Always nice to see what we do at Vital being appreciated as The Telegraph listed Vital Football not only in the top 25 football sites but none other than 7th. As a truly independent network, it has been a strange old ride to get ourselves established as the number one network and has been fascinating to set up 'against' the Sky owned Rivals only to see the competition disappear! Vital Villa asked after the 2-0 win over Portsmouth for your man of the match votes. Gabby Agbonlahor came out the clear winner with 45%. Other results: Gabby Voted MotM v Pompey

Andrew (aka Andy before he decided he wanted to change his name!) Cole said that Sol Campbell had talks with Villa before making a move to Notts County (he's quit there already). Ok, does anyone seriously think that Villa made an offer and he decided to go to Notts County instead? Nope, nor me. It was explained to me not long back about the process of making signings and (this being from someone who does this sort of thing for a living, not just a press talk type!) I was told that sometimes there are very brief conversations, this is often then taken as 'talks' whereas in fact many, many conversations aren't followed up on or go nowhere. So yes, maybe there was an indication or query, but no way did this develop into anything meaningful!

Steve Sidwell picked up a slight thigh injury in the warm up before the Carling Cup clash with Cardiff City last night. MON said ahead of this weekends game v Blackburn Rovers: 'I've got a bit of concern with Steve Sidwell. He played splendidly against Portsmouth on Saturday. I was going to keep him back on the subs bench against Cardiff but in the warm up he felt his thigh. Even though he was down as a sub on the list, he could not have come on. It was getting sore as he was on the bench so that is be a bit of a concern.'' Be interesting to see if he doesn't play whether Nigel Hokey-Cokey will?

Brad Guzan is craving a long run in the Carling Cup - for the personal and team pleasure. Full article and quotes on the official site: Click Here
