'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Marlon Harewood Newcastle Bound

Sky Sports have Marlon Harewood's agent quoted confirming that the big man is now over his injury and should be on his way to Newcastle United on loan.

The Magpies are looking to Harewood to cover the injury of Shola Ameobi.

The agent told SkySports.com that things are close to being agreed and he hopes the move will happen before the week is out.

'Talks are ongoing between both clubs and I think they are keen to get it resolved. Marlon is back to fitness now and he is ready and raring to go. Marlon is very keen on going to Newcastle and playing regular first-team football again.'

Really hope it works out for him, I think I'm not alone in being surprised no one bought him this summer and although he was never really the sort of player we needed, his attitude appears to have always been right and I did used to enjoy his super sub appearances, if not for the football at least for the enthusiasm!

Really hope he is a success there. Never gave less than 100%. Great opportunity for him to stay with a big club, and get his career back on track.

I also wish him all the best! He deserves success with all the effort and good attitude he showed. He earned the affection of the Villa faithful. Lets hope he is a success for the toons! Who knows, if he returns to the 20 goal a season form he had a Hammers, maybe in 3 months if he returns he can be pushing Heskey and Carew for a place in our first team!

Heskey or Harewood - Marlon like a shot, he's done more for us since signing than Heskey has afterall.

I understand about Heskeys lack of goals but surley he offers more than Marlon, or has he simply not done it for us, all the managers and players rave about him.

but, astonsteve, can you imagine monny saying to the press 'he's been s###e since he signed for us' ? as funny as it would be, no professional in the game can give there honest opinion about a player/manager/club. heskey looked ok when he was at wigan, but he was the big name there. thats not the case at the Villa!

Heskey & The Hare are both crap. The only difference is that the Hare has some comedy value. Although I guess after his cameo against Portsmouth, Heskey has shown his hilarious side too. Perhaps the Hare and the Mule are the new chuckle brothers.
