Snippet in the Daily Mail today says we are looking at Feyenoord’s 22-year-old Holland Under-21 midfielder Jonathan De Guzman who is apparently out of contract at the end of the season. Manchester City, Chelsea and Valencia are also interested.

Vital Villa asked for your Man of the match v Blues. No real shock that the two new arrivals, Richard Dunne (from Manchester City) and James Collins (from West Ham) fought it out as they made such solid debut's (as did Stephen Warnock to be fair!) The winner by 1% was Richard Dunne (38%) so by the fact he won by 1% I reckon you can work out yourselves what James Collins got... answers on a postcard to someone who cares! Fieldy: Martin O'Neill has backed Carlos Cuellar to become a real star for Villa this season, even if he's playing right back. Speaking to Lisa Smith of the Birmingham Mail, Martin O'Neill was full of praise for Cuellar after his Man of the Match performance against Blues last weekend. Cuellar hasn't had it easy since his £7.8 million move from Scottish giants Rangers 13 months ago. His early Villa career was blighted with niggling injuries and he struggled in pre season. When he did get into the first team he was more often than not 'uncomfortable' and his aclimatisation to the Premiership wasn't helped with stints at right back as he was trying to find his feet. Fieldy: Martin O'Neill has admitted he is envious that Everton and Fulham will be slogging it out in the Europa League tonight after Vienna dumped us on our Arse...played last night. Speaking on the official site this morning, Monny couldn't help but wonder 'what if' as our fellow Premiership colleagues take on AEK Athens and CSKA Sofia respectively tonight. Fieldy: Martin O'Neill has admitted that news of the new Premier League squad cap will barely enter his thoughts, unless he's asked questions about it. Speaking on the official site days after Richard Scudamore finally got his way on 'home grown' players and squad caps and other such pointless politically correct regulations, hardly anyone at Villa has batted an eyelid...including the fans. James Milner believes Villa are slowly turning into a very dangerous outfit because of complimentary partnerships between players on the pitch. 'These partnerships can take time - and we have developed some good partnerships all over the field,' Milner told the official site. MON has told Gabby that enough is enough with his packing on the muscle, in the E&S he said: 'He felt as if he needed to get a bit stronger. He is particularly strong now - that's encouraging and he needs that. But I'm not so sure he needs to do that much more.'
