Gabby Going Home Happy

Gabby Agbonlahor has said he was delighted to send the faithful home with smiles on their faces after his 84th minute goal against the Blues today.

Speaking to the official site Gabby was 'over the moon' (see all the cliches come out now) to have secured all 3 points and more importantly the oft quoted 'bragging rights' in the second city derby.

Gabby also admits scoring in front of our fans made the header even more special once he saw how much it meant to them.

'It shows how much it meant to everyone, the way they were celebrating.

'It makes all of their years until we play them again. It is good that we've got the bragging rights.'

Commenting on his miss moments later that would have put the match beyond the Noses, Gabby admitted he was bitterly disappointed with his finish but was thankful that it didn't come back to bite us in the end.

'I was disappointed not to score that one but luckily they didn't get an equaliser so it didn't really matter.'

Agbonlahor also said that when going through for the spurned chance his legs felt heavy and tired...I'm pretty sure they don't now when he considers how many people he's made the week for with his tap in!

When he replays that in his own mind he will be kicking himself for not taking the second chance. Massive result in terms of confidence for the new boys also. Never a classic game but who cares if we win ügly games"as its about the points afterall. Dunne proved to be mr reliable when it mattered and his performance was a great start in claret n blue!

must be so amazing, a local brummie lad getting the winner v the local rivals... Agree holte ender about the miss, for confidence the second goal would have been massive for him, he has to start taking those and hopefully will!
