Luke Young Ready For Derby

Luke Young Ready For Derby

No, not county...the Blues game. After a period of compassionate leave after the tragic death of his brother, and recovery from a thigh injury Luke is back in contention.

Speaking to a number of journalists Martin O'Neill indicated that Young could now be ready to return to action in our game at the Sty.

"Luke Young is improving his general fitness and feeling a bit stronger after his recent tragedy.

"I had a word with him and he said he is feeling a lot better. Physically he has got a bit of work to do but he is improving. Emotionally that is a different aspect altogether and that is something he will be able to tell you, but he is back here day to day.'

The loss of a family member is something you wouldn't wish on anyone and whilst the club have, as expected, acted admirably during this time by allowing Luke to focus on what actually matters praise has to go to the media who have also respected his privacy.

It could now be the best thing for Luke to be back training and amongst the squad as it pertains to getting back to to normal after the tragedy but O'Neill has remained committed to allowing Luke to dictate the pace of his return to the public eye.

"He will get an opportunity to take a day or two away any time he needs with our blessing. He has as long as he needs."

I'd be worried about him playing in this one. Any other team then I would be delighted but I am 100% confiedent that a section of our friendly neighbours will take great pleasure in singing songs about his brother.

Could well have a back line of Young - Dunne - Collins - Warnock on Sunday. Welcome back Luke

Sign of the times. We are likely to be without 2 players in defence, Bouma and Davies. However we still have 2 right backs, two left backs and 4 (if you include Ciaran Clarke) centre backs to choose from. We have 4 strikers going for 1 position and about 9 or 10 midfielders for the 5 positions available. Small squad??? Not any more. This season will be a good one regardless of the result on Sunday. However after spending £48 for my ticket on Sunday, I am hoping we give the Dildo Salesmen from Somali Heath one hell of a beating.
