'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Our Second Ginger Ninja Speaks

James Collins has undertaken the first of many interviews on the official site since his reported 5 million move from Wet Spam.

Not only does he believe that Villa will help him improve as a player, but the Welsh international was delighted with his tour of Bodymoor and with what he heard about the aspirations of the club from Monny.

'It's been a mad 24 hours since coming up here but I'm delighted to have it all sorted.

'I came yesterday and met the manager and had a look around. It's a fantastic setting. I just can't wait to get cracking now.

'Aston Villa is a massive club so and I'm friendly with a few of the boys as well, it didn't take a lot of persuading on my part.

'I loved my time at West Ham but I believe I have taken a step forward.

'I have come to Aston Villa to improve as a player and hopefully improve their team. I'll be looking to do that straight away.'

Whilst late reports are coming in about us also securing the services of Richard Dunne from Man City, this move, whilst not the one many were wanting or expecting, should free Curtis up to undergo surgery to correct his shoulder problem and going off what Wet Spam fans have been saying, Collins is a no nonsense centre half who will do a decent job for us.

Welcome to the club James...if he starts against Blues he could potentially be an overnight hero!
